electric dreams

Men, Women, Dinosaurs and Robots, welcome...
I'm Amy and this blog is but a mild distraction from the life long quest I have undertaken to collect copious amounts of kinder eggs in the hope that one day I will discover a small dinosaur that requires the expertise of my freakishly tiny hands to put it together.

Funny one thing led to another,
You came along, filled my days with colour

Are you?

when you fall asleep

with your head upon my shoulder

when you’re in my arms

and you’ve gone somewhere deeper

Are you going to age with grace

Are you going to age without mistakes

Are you going to age with grace

only to wake and hide your face

'Cause I can't make you love me, darling

If you don’t

You can’t make your heart feel

Something it won’t

Oh, here in the dark

In these final hours

I will lay down my heart

If you feel the power, but you won’t

i’m a stitch away from making it

and a scar away from falling apart

so today i bought my first pocket watch.
it’s 171 years old and now it’s in my little hands.
i wonder what the man that bought it back in 1842 was like.
awesome no doubt.

I’m really coming round to the idea that life is made up of lots of little beautiful moments that come and go rather than one dramatic defining point. I think lots of people fail to notice the tiny occasions where you’re truly at piece with everything and you no longer crave more. It’s so easy to become caught up in life and not take time to really experience it. I still get ridiculously excited when I open a Kinder egg toy or when I get to read my favourite space magazine every month or that time when I spotted a furry caterpillar on the way to work and gave it a little stroke. I quite like this idea because if you think about it I bet you have at least one little moment of joy everyday and isn’t that slightly better than having one big moment in your whole life. Waking up and having the first cup of tea of the day is pretty special. I mean obviously tea is pretty special anyways but I bet you don’t give it a second thought. I think what I’m beginning to appreciate is that I can’t sit around waiting for my life to start; it’s happening and I’m not even acknowledging it.

Also, I’d like to point out that I stroked the caterpillar, I didn’t cause it to have a stroke.

Although maybe I did.
